December 2011 Trifecta

Dec 24, 2011

Continuing this month, SISC will be shining a spotlight on area athletes who have risen to the occasion in the classroom, in their communities, and on their teams or in their sports.  We hope you’ll enjoy reading about some of the feel-good stories of young people who are contributors in the game of life.  And as always, if you have a candidate you’d like to nominate for SISC Trifecta, contact us and we’ll check in to it.  While we cannot guarantee every nominee will be featured, we will do our best to spotlight the area’s very best!

Ally Bunecky – Marion

Ally Bunecky

Ally Bunecky is a junior at Marion High School and a three-year member of the Wildcats tennis team. Bunecky won the “Most Improved” player award in 2011 and is also a Tri-Hy Y Memmber along with being a member of the Science Club. Bunecky carries a GPA of 4.03.

“Ally strives to reach her full potential,” said Marion tennis coach Carrie Watson. “This is witnessed by her commitment to her class work and to her team mates.  If Ally doesn’t feel comfortable with a part of her game she works hard to gain the confidence with her strokes and she does this by asking questions, working hard and taking extra private lessons.  She has even had the opportunity to attend Nick Bollettieri’s Academy in Florida.  Bunecky really helped us out this season playing the No.3 singles position and ended with a 10-3 record.  Ally has a genuine good personality; she’s reliable and is a true team player.
