Red, White, Blue, Fireworks and Sports...

Happy Fourth of July!!! It is a day of food, sports, recreation, familiy, and remembering those who have fought and are fighting for our freedom. Later than usual today as I got out and played a round of golf in the elements this morning. Those elements included fog, rain, wind, and dampness. It is a full day of pro sports going on so let's get right to it.

Prep Report
- Mason Jacobs continued his good play by winning a SIGA event at Kokopelli last weekend.
- The SI Bullets baseball team is really playing well right now with area prep talent playing for the team.

Pro Sports
- The MLB has done it right today. Cubs/Cardinals, Yanks/Red Sox, Dodgers/Giants, White Sox/A's, Mets/Phillies, and Indians/Twins all on the docket this weekend.
- Jim Edmonds returns to St. Louis tonight for the first time since joining the Cubs.
- Speaking of that series, the pitching matchups on paper look very good.
- Check out the Yanks/Red Sox highlights of the almost home run ball that sets on the top of the fence. It is something I have never seen before in a baseball game.
- Qualifying for the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona will be today. The race will be tomorrow night under the lights.
- Mark Martin has come out of retirement and is going to be the 4th driver in the Hendrick stable in 2009.
- Tony Stewart has a deal in place with Office Depot as the primary sponsor for his ride in 2009.
- Williams vs. Williams and Federer vs. Nadal are the finals at Wimbledon. Tennis fans are salivating at the matchups.

Make sure to take time to reflect and/or thank those for what you are able to go and do today. I'm out.
